As the person responsible for technical offerings, you’ll be gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, shaping the vision for these products, and working with the engineering managers to deliver them to customers.

 

As Technical Product Manager, you’ll be building a community around your product and managing a public roadmap. Once you set expectations, you’ll be responsible for timely and high-quality delivery. The API is the primary interface to interoperate with data stored within the Canvas platform. The SDK allows developers to extend in-app workflows, define patient populations and respond to application events. The combination of these offerings allows our customers to build applications on Canvas. Our developer offerings serve as a primary differentiator for Canvas.

What you’ll be doing:

• Own product vision for the API, Workflow SDK and Dashboard SDK
• Design interface and workflow abstractions that service a wide range of care delivery models
• Write product specifications to elucidate the “what” and “why” for new features
• Collaborate with engineering managers and development teams to optimize for delivery, and with design to develop the user experience
• Create and maintain a public product roadmap
• Own developer documentation to make building on Canvas easy and low friction
• Build out a developer dashboard for API / SDK monitoring and troubleshooting
• Build support for customer invoicing
• Develop an interface to provision and configure EMR environments
• Manage a backlog of features and bugs and sequence next-up work
• Stay abreast of competitor offerings to maintain our competitive advantage.
• Monitor, survey, and analyze product usage as an input to product planning.
• Work with other product managers to develop products within a shared domain.

You'll know you're successful when:

• Developers love building their product on Canvas, and developers of prospective customers encourage their team to build their product offerings on Canvas.
• Internal development teams begin work with little ambiguity and company stakeholders are aligned on the plan.
• Other product managers speak to the value your product delivers within their focus areas.
• The Canvas team shares a deep understanding of technical concepts and workflows.

What we're looking for:

• 5+ years of experience as a software developer with extensive experience using other platform APIs and SDKs
• Experience setting and directing product vision, ideally in a Product Management role
• Proven success managing products with a developer focus
• Previous experience interfacing directly with customers to support and sell products
• Experience working closely with technical leadership to bring products to market
• Experience in the healthcare industry strongly preferred and a major plus!
